Russian Navy Test-Launched Tsirkon Hypersonic Missile for the 1st Time
Russia test-launched its Tsirkon hypersonic missile from a ship for the first time when the Project 22350 frigate Admiral Gorshkov fired the weapon from the Barents Sea against a ground target in January, two sources in defense circles of Russia’s North-Western Federal District told TASS on Thursday.
“In accordance with the program of the Tsirkon’s state trials, the Admiral Gorshkov test-launched this missile from the Barents Sea against a ground target at one of military testing ranges of the Northern Urals in early January,”
The other source confirmed this information, noting that “the range of the Tsirkon’s flight exceeded 500 km.”

U.S. Navy Cuts Super Hornet Production to Develop Next-Generation Fighter
The Navy wants to truncate production of the legacy F/A-18E/F Super Hornet in favor of pumping money into accelerating the development of its long-gestating next-generation carrier-based fighter program, the service revealed in its Fiscal Year 2021 budget request. “The decision to cease F/A-18 procurement after FY 2021 ensures the Carrier Air Wing will maintain capable strike fighter capacity to pace the most stressing threats through the 2030s,”
read the Navy documents. The NGAD program, previously known as F/A-XX, has sought to replace the payload capacity of the Super Hornets on carrier decks as the incoming F-35C Lighting II Joint Strike Fighter brings a stealthy fighter to the air wing. The program has had fits and starts over the last decade as the service has grappled with shaping the future of the air wing.

Non, erreur de la com du cabinet de la ministre...
QuoteWhile French Minister of the Armed Forces announced that the Suffren conducted its first static dive on her twitter account, a Naval Group spokesperson explained that the event actually marked the first time the Suffren floated in the water.
Contacted by Naval News, the spokesperson said “The Suffren was floated in its basin ahead of its sea trials which will take place in a few weeks”.
https://www.navalnews.com/naval-news/2020/02/french-navy-ssn-suffren-floated-for-the-first-time/
Plongée statique dans le bassin, c'est vrai que ça aurait été étonnant.
Deplus, lors de la ceremonie en Juillet on apprenait que les essais auront lieux: First around Cherbourg (where the first static diving will be conducted), then in Brest area (for deep diving tests) and finally in Toulon area (in the late summer/early fall of 2020) for tests of the weapon systems... Suite à une question posée par moi-même :)- 1

United States Approves Possible FMS of LRASM to AustraliaThe United States' State Department approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to Australia up to 200 AGM-158C, Long Range Anti-Ship Missiles (LRASMs) and related equipment for an estimated cost of $990 million.
As Naval News reported during the PACIFIC 2019 trade show, Lockheed Martin’s LRASM is competing against Kongsberg’s Joint Strike Missile (JSM) and Saab’s RBS 15 Mk4 for the AIR 3023 requirement of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF).
AIR 3023 Phase I “Enhanced Maritime Strike for the Air Combat Capability” calls for the procurement of anti-ship missiles for the Super Hornets of the RAAF. The RAAF has a fleet of a 24 F/A-18F Super Hornets and 11 EA-18G Growler. The future missile would likely be fitted on the Super Hornet exclusively however.
