Price discrepancies were scrutinzed from the first (cancelled) to second competition when it was revealed Boeing had access to NG/EADS' bid. The price differentials had to be fully explained and legitimized. Sounds like EADS is cutting their margin to close to nothing to win the contract, maybe even losing. If they're willing to drop the cost below a Boeing bid to make up for life-cycle costs, AND their claims about the aircraft being more capable than Boeing's plane hold true, then I'm all for the Europeans picking up the tab to supply tankers for the USAF. - This sounds very much like I am supposed to subsidize the production of US aircraft in the US with my tax euros. I really hope that finally Boeing is chosen. :P
