Mistral deal moves closer to fruition The French have successfully bent the Russian arm. The deal will be for 4 ships. 2 will be built in France and 2 will be built in Russia. Originally Russia wanted 3 of the 4 to be built in Russia, but the French have successfully twisted some arms and gotten themselves 2 of the 4. The French will need 34 months to finish each hull. The Russian shipyards will need 48 months because they need to "digest" the design. 3 Russian yards are competing for the work - Admiralskaya Verfa, Servnaya Verfa and Baltisk ship builders. The story itself is not online but is being discussed at the Key Military Forum. Active cancellation means preventing a radar from detecting a target by firing back a deception signal with the same frequency as the reflection, but precisely one-half wavelength out of phase with it. Result: the returned energy reaching the radar has no frequency and can't be detected. It's quite as difficult as it sounds. Some reports have suggested that the so called SP-3 or ZSR-62 "radar jamming device" planned in the early days of the B-2 program was an active cancellation system. It did not work and was scrapped in 1987-88. In 2005, Northrop Grumman paid $62 million to settle a False Claims Act case involving the system. This may not be the first French attempt to implement AC on the Rafale. At the Paris air show in 1997, I interviewed a senior engineer at what was then Dassault Electronique, about the Rafale's Spectra jamming system. En fait je parlai de l'avion "prototype/demonstrateur" en lui meme... Vont ils faire revoler la A ou le C01 ou bien vont ils prélever un F3 dans le but de le modifier, intergrer puis tester et valider les evolutions?

Sauf que la, A&C parle de ''lancement'' et non plus d'étude du démonstrateur pour 2010. D'ailleur, qu'elles plateforme pourraient ils utiliser? Une existante (Rafale A, C01) ou faudrait il absoluement partir d'une base nouvelle (cellule Rafale F3 neuve) et du coup, une unité en moins pour l'Adla prélevée sur les chaines Dassault ? (comme ils ont fait pour le demonstrateur Gripen NG en gros)

De toute façon ce CGI de Dassault qui circule deja depuis quelques années parait moins poussé qu'une F15 SE (comparé au F15) vu que les aremements ne sont toujours pas internes.

The first 179 were going to be the KC-X competition. It will start all over again in a few more years. The Air Force will take a look at the 179 aircraft that are on hand. The Air Force will will look at the requirements and then go back in and look at the second tranche, known as the KC-Y. The plan calls for procurement of 15 KC-Ys a year from 2024-36, then nine KC-Zs a year until 2048.

J'ai posé la meme question à Olybrius sur MP.net (je sais pas si il est membre ici sous un autre nom) en rappelant que le capteur du F35 couvre 360° et demandant si le DDM NG en fera autant il me repond: Donc 360° aussi non ? edit: Je vien de lire les postes postés pendant que je rédigeait et effectivement 180 + 180 = 360 :) Sinon @ FATAC pour le secteur frontale, yaurait pas moyen d'adapter l'OSF justement pour detecter les menaces venant de devant?
