    [A400M] le défi stratégique européen

First A400M moved outside for ground tests By Craig Hoyle Airbus Military's first A400M has been moved from the final assembly line at its San Pablo plant near Seville for a two-week series of ground tests that will edge the transport closer to its delayed first flight. Aircraft MSN001 was towed outside on 2 September, having recently undergone system checks and received unspecified modifications that EADS-led Airbus Military says will make it "a more mature aircraft at first flight". The delayed milestone - originally scheduled for early 2008 - is expected to take place "around the turn of the year", it adds. Originally rolled out in June 2008, MSN001 will now undergo fuel and pressurisation tests and navigation and communication system checks, says Airbus Military. It will then have its four Europrop International TP400-D6 turboprop engines and auxiliary power unit installed, following the delivery of the final full authority digital engine control software, it adds. EADS hopes to agree a new contract with its seven European launch customers for the €20 billion ($28.5 billion) A400M programme by year-end. Deliveries of the nations' combined 180 transports are expected to start around late 2012 or early 2013, over three years behind schedule.

FSP, 03/10 Sweden improvement fighter proposal and attracts Lula Despite the political preference of the plateau and the Defense of France, Lula took a flight from abroad to see a short flash movie of five minutes of Saab in Portuguese on the Gripen NG. According to Folha, he said, "Wow, I did not know that!" (...That's because your MoD is refusing to meet with Swedish representatives! /sig) The movie was "smuggled" to Lula by Air Force officials, who see advantages in the Gripen NG to be an ongoing project that already counts with the participation of Brazilian technicians. Saab representatives complain that Minister Nelson Jobim, primarily responsible for conducting the process, visited military installations in France, the USA and even Russia (whose Sukkoi was disqualified), but was not to Sweden. putain... pourvu qu'il passe pas

    Appel d'offre brésilien

quel bordel: Campaign Update: Brazil The time limit for submitting bids has been extended to October 2. This was actually requested by SAAB (but probably welcomed by all parties...) mais, 1 jour plus tard: UPDATE 1-Saab denies asking Brazil for more time on bid * Brazil now says request came from all the bidders * Bidding process extended by two weeks (Adds new Brazil air force statement) STOCKHOLM, Sept 22 (Reuters) - Swedish defense and aerospace firm Saab (SAABb.ST) on Tuesday denied requesting an extended deadline from Brazil's air force in the tender for the country's next-generation fighter jets. The Brazilian air force, which said on Monday that Saab had asked for more time, changed its tune on Tuesday, saying the request had come from all the bidders. The other two finalists in the bidding process are France's Dassault Aviation (AVMD.PA) and U.S. aircraft manufacturer Boeing Co (BA.N). Saab's top executive, Ake Svensson, told a press conference that the company had not requested a delay. He said Saab could have handed in the tender on Monday, when it received notice that the bidding process would be extended by two weeks. The new deadline is Oct. 2. The Brazilian air force said in a statement on Monday that Saab had asked for more time to present improved bids. [iD:nN21282585] But on Tuesday the air force said in a statement on its Web site that the extension had been requested by all "the competing companies." An air force spokesman told Reuters he could not explain the correction. et enfin le mieux pour la fin: Brazilian DefMin Nelson Jobim fell "ill" on Thursday and couldn't meet with the Swedish representation. :)

Rafale lands in Bangalore The multi-role combat aircraft is said to meet IAF’s requirements ‘Dassault prepared to transfer all the technology to India’ Rafale will fly to Leh and Jaisalmer for trial flights BANGALORE: Rafale, the French built fighter aircraft and one of the six fighters competing for the Indian Air Force’s (IAF’s) multi-billion dollar multi-role combat aircraft (MMRCA) deal is in Bangalore. Two twin-engine delta-wing multi-role fighters designed and built by France’s Dassault Aviation and piloted by IAF and French pilots have been undertaking flights – which are part of the MMRCA flight trials — from Bangalore’s HAL Airport since Tuesday. Officials said the two French aircraft had flown non-stop to Bangalore from Dassault’s Flight Test Centre at Istres in France, thanks to the fighter’s in-flight refuelling capabilities. One of the most modern fourth generation fighters, the Rafale is in use with the French Air Force, and the French Navy for their carrier-based operations. Officials said the Rafale met all the air staff qualitative requirements sought by the IAF and that Dassault was prepared to transfer all the technology that was required by the Indian side. They pointed out that the Rafale had a functioning Active Electronically Scanned Array radar. Dassault’s bid had the strong backing of the Nicolas Sarkozy Government. Piloted by IAF and French pilots, the two trainer aircraft will be based in Bangalore for the next fortnight, flying over, and in and out of Bangalore as they take part in the first phase of the flight trials. During the two weeks the aircraft will fly to Leh for the high altitude/cold weather trials and Jaisalmer for the hot weather trials. Dassault’s technicians, pilots and maintenance crew will train and show IAF test pilots and flight test engineers the capabilities and uniqueness of the Rafale. Besides the IAF test crews, the specially formed Indian Evaluation Team has representatives from the Ministry of Defence, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the Defence and Research Development Organisation, Directorate-General of Aeronautical Quality Assurance and Air Headquarters. Two evaluations teams have been formed for the MMRCA flight trials. The next phase of flight trials will involve weapon firing trials in the country of the aircraft’s manufacturer. Besides the Rafale the other aircraft in contention for the $ 10 billion to $12 billion deal are Boeing’s F/A-18, Lockheed Martin’s F-16IN Super Viper, the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company’s Eurofighter Typhoon, Russia’s Mikoyan MiG-35 and Sweden’s Gripen JAS-39. http://www.hindu.com/2009/09/26/stories/2009092655470500.htm Sinon, Le Rafale a la cote... pour une fois? http://livefist.blogspot.com/2009/09/rafale-wins-mmrca-competition-on.html In almost 1,000 votes polled over two days, the Rafale was on top with 28 per cent (278 votes)! What definitely won't warm the cockles of the folks at Lockheed-Martin is that the company's F-16IN Super Viper was trounced, coming in last with a measly 3 per cent of votes polled (38 votes). The Russian MiG-35 enjoys a great a deal of love, obviously, despite being heckled about quite a bit. The Fulcrum-F took 225 votes, that's a nice chunky 23 per cent of the total votes polled. Sweden's Gripen disappointed with a 12 per cent performance (120 votes), though it was still miles above its bête noire in the competition, the F-16. Not surprisingly, readers placed the Eurofighter Typhoon and the Boeing F/A-18 virtually neck-t0-neck with 16 (166 votes) and 15 per cent (151 votes) of the total votes polled respectively.

    Crash Rafale

Strategypage a pas faux? (comme d'hab quoi) French Navy Loses 12 Percent Of Its Rafales In One Disaster September 27, 2009: On September 24th, two French Rafale fighters collided and crashed in the Mediterranean, about 30 kilometers off the French coast. At least the French Navy believes it was a collision. The two aircraft were operating from the French carrier de Gaulle. There are only 17 navalized Rafales operating with the French navy. Now there are fifteen. One of the pilots was apparently lost (the search continues), and the one who survived was not sure if there was a collision. Moi je croyai que: As far as Rafale M go: - 31 Rafale M got delivered so far by Dassault Avation. - 9 F1 (air-air only) are in storage waiting funding for retrofit - 1 F1 (prototype M1) is used by Dassault Aviation for testing/R&D. - 21 (I guess 18 F2 and 3 F3 minus 2 now) are operational and are trully multi role.
