LONDON [MENL] -- Saudi Arabia has ordered a network centric warfare system and armored combat vehicles in contracts that approach $500 million.

BAE Systems has received two contracts signed in 2006 that stipulated a range of equipment to the Saudi military. Executives identified the non-government contracts as the sale of the Tactica armored vehicle and a command, control, communications, computer and intelligence system to Riyad.

"We finished [2006] by securing approval for two other contracts that fall outside the government-to-government arrangements for a C4ISR program and Tactica armored vehicles," BAE Systems chief executive officer Mike Turner said.

Turner said the two contracts were drafted in 2006 and were not part of the Al Yamamah program, an oil-for-weapons deal that has brought an estimated $86 billion in aircraft, ships, training and maintenance to Saudi Arabia since 1987. He would not elaborate.

Land Systems UK products include Challenger 2, CRARRV, Warrior, CVRT, FV430, Panther, TITAN, TROJAN, M777, TERRIER, Panther, bridging systems, Tactica, and 105mm Light Gun, with through life support services.

The Tactica family is a complete range of versatile, cost-effective 4x4 wheeled vehicles ideally suited for use by military forces in many roles. Its armour protection, reliability, and impressive on and off road mobility make it ideally suited to military roles.

MOBILITY

The Tactica family was designed to accept a range of different turbo-charged diesel engines to meet customers' preferences, giving road speeds of I20kph. Permanent 4x4 wheel drive, incorporating selectable ratios and three lockable differentials, ensure impressive crosscountry mobility. Full width protected driver's vision areas, comprehensive instrumentation, small turning circle, and power assisted controls, reduce driver fatigue in long-distance deployments.

PROTECTION

Tactica provides armoured protection against 5.56 and 7.62mm ballrounds at point blank range, anti-personnel mines, with vision areas protected to the same level, In addition, enhanced protection against armour-piercing rounds, mines, and indirect fire shell fragments, is available. Run-flat tyres are fitted as standard. The engine and each wheel can be protected by a fire extinguisher system. Machine guns or riot guns can be fitted on pintle mounts or in one-man turrets.

ERGONOMICS

Tactica personnel carrying variants are available with a range of capacities, from 10 man patrol vehicles, to APCs for 14 to 22 personnel. Personnel carrying variants are fitted with fireproof and sound reducing lining, air-conditioning, temperature control, and extractor fans. Seating is fire retardant, and each occupant has a safety harness.

VERSATILITY

Tactica's large interior capacity and versatile design allow vehicles to be provided for a wide range of roles, including:

* Patrol vehicles

* APCs (with or without turret)

* Ambulance

* Bomb Disposal

un système de numérisation ou juste un réseau de communication?

Mr. Mike Turner (CEO du BAE Systems) a dit que c'est une programme C4ISR. C4ISR est: "Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance". J'espere que ca t'aide.
